Use of Seal Guidelines
How to display the Certified Microplastic-Free™ seal, and where to download official files.
Seal use is restricted to licensed clients
The Certified Microplastic-Free™ seal is a registered trademark. These files are published for the convenience of our licensed clients, retailers, journalists, and the public who need to verify or reference the mark. Displaying the seal on any product, package, advertisement, or website without an active Certified Microplastic-Free™ license is trademark infringement and may result in legal action, including a claim for damages. If you are unsure whether a product is currently certified, check the Certified Products directory or contact info@microfree.org.
What is allowed
- Use the seal only for certified products within the licensed scope and geography.
- Display the seal at a minimum size of 0.5 inches in print, or 128px on screen, so the wordmark stays legible.
- Maintain clear space around the seal of at least 25% of the seal's height, on all sides.
- Use the color or black version on light backgrounds, and the white version on dark or colored backgrounds.
- Where space allows, pair the seal with a line such as "Certified Microplastic-Free™ for [Product Name]. See certification details at [URL]," linking to your certification listing or our standards page.
What is not allowed
- No alteration of the seal design, colors, proportions, or wording.
- No implication that uncertified products are certified.
- No use in company names, domain names, or product names.
- No display of the seal once a license has expired, been suspended, or been revoked.
- No use of the seal alongside unrelated claims we have not evaluated, such as general "non-toxic" or "eco-friendly" language, unless you separately substantiate those claims yourself.

The files below are the only official versions of the Certified Microplastic-Free™ seal. Primary brand color is CMF Blue (#1c85c6). If you need a format not listed here, contact info@microfree.org.
Full color
The primary version of the seal, for use on light backgrounds.

Black (one-color)
For one-color printing, embossing, engraving, or packaging on light backgrounds where full color isn't practical.

White (reversed)
For dark or colored backgrounds.

Compact badge
A simplified mark (no wordmark ring) for small-format packaging or digital placements where the full seal isn't legible below 128px, such as app icons or small product thumbnails. Available in color, black, and white.

- PNG (transparent): color — 256px, 64px, 32px
- Print and production: EPS, AI, PDF (color shown; black and white follow the same naming pattern in the full kit)
The AI files are saved in a format Adobe Illustrator opens and edits natively. They are not files originally authored in Illustrator; if your printer specifically requires a native Illustrator source file, contact us.
