Your certificate
Each certified product carries a certificate ID in the format CMF-YYYY-XXXXX. The ID appears on your certificate PDF, in the QR code printed on it, and in the public Certified Products directory. Certification is valid for a 12-month term from the issue date shown on the certificate.
If you need a replacement copy of your certificate PDF or a correction to your directory listing, contact us and include the certificate ID.
Renewal
To maintain certification beyond the initial term, an annual renewal is required. Renewal includes a documentation update and confirmation that materials and suppliers have not changed in ways that affect eligibility. We reach out ahead of your expiration date, and you can start renewal at any time by emailing info@microfree.org with your certificate ID.
To keep renewal fast, have the following ready:
- Confirmation that the bill of materials for exposed components is unchanged, or a summary of any changes.
- Current supplier declarations for any materials that have changed source or grade.
- Notes on any changes to the manufacturing process that could affect exposed surfaces.
Reporting product changes
Certification applies to the product as reviewed. If you change a material, supplier, or manufacturing process in a way that affects exposed surfaces, notify us before the change reaches production so we can confirm the product remains eligible. Most changes are resolved with a short documentation review rather than a full re-review.
Changes that do not touch exposed surfaces, such as sealed internal mechanisms or outer shipping packaging, generally do not affect certification, but we are happy to confirm scope questions by email.
Support
For asset requests, renewal questions, listing corrections, or anything else, email info@microfree.org. Include your certificate ID so we can pull up your file quickly. Questions about how the seal may be used in advertising are covered in the Use of Seal Guidelines, and our review approach is documented under Methods Transparency.
