Microplastic-Free Certification for Baby and Toddler Products
Independent certification for bottles, teethers, pacifiers, feeding items, and other baby and toddler products, based on a documented review of every exposed material.
Why baby products
Infant products involve the most direct exposure route there is: babies put things in their mouths by design. Bottles, nipples, teethers, pacifiers, and feeding utensils sit in direct mouth contact for extended periods, and parents increasingly look for products made without plastics in those contact surfaces. The Certified Microplastic-Free™ seal gives brands a way to back that claim with independent review rather than self-declaration.
What we review
Certification covers a product's exposed surfaces, the components that contact the child's mouth or skin or the food and liquid the child consumes. For a typical baby product, that means the bottle body and nipple, the teether surface, the utensil head and handle, and any part a child can reach during normal use. We review the complete bill of materials for each exposed component, supplier specifications and attestations, and how the product is manufactured, then evaluate everything against the published CMF Standard v1.0.
Materials commonly found in qualifying products include medical-grade silicone, borosilicate glass, stainless steel, and natural rubber. Plastics and other microplastic-forming materials in exposed components are disqualifying, including bio-based and biodegradable plastics. Where a component's status is genuinely ambiguous, our standard resolves the ambiguity against certification.
Product families
Baby brands typically certify product families rather than single items. A bottle offered in two sizes and three colors can be reviewed as one family when the materials and construction are identical, which keeps certification costs proportional to your catalog. See pricing for how family review works.
Getting started
Review the certification criteria, then submit an initial application. The eligibility screening is free and takes 3 to 5 business days. Certified products appear in our public directory with a verifiable certificate number.
